"I only went out for a walk, and finally concluded to stay out till sundown, for going out, I found, was really going in." - John Muir
While COVID-19 was lashing, quarantine did allow some gentle (sometimes unimaginable) reprieves like cozying up in a chair at 6 p.m. and reading, being done for the night. Later, it fostered more exuberant indulgences like dragging a bulky lounge chair to the middle of the lawn and basking in the glorious Sunday sun and reading. A book and the sun and the time in between - only a gift straight to the soul.
What quiet courage and clarity such little pockets of time brought to bring us here. We started selling books when we were cleaning off our shelves with books we no longer wanted. We were surprised at the response and thought, what if we actually sold books we liked or wanted to read? And so Blithe Books happened, and we are continually surprised to find that a blithe occupation, there truly can be.
We hope you like our selections.
