Maurice Sendak’s classic book of months is now available in board-book format for the first time!
For over fifty years, children have discovered that, whether it’s June or December, every month is perfect for Chicken Soup with Rice. And now they can enjoy this classic as a board book. This new format makes it a perfect choice for children and their grown-up readers to return to month after month.
Maurice Sendak received the 1964 Caldecott Medal for WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE. In 1970 he received the international Hans Christian Andersen Award for Illustration, the only American to receive this honor; in 1983 he received the Laura Ingalls Wilder Award, given by the American Library Association in recognition of his entire body of work; and in 1996 he received a National Medal of Arts in recognition of his contribution to the arts in America. In 2003, Sendak received the first Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award, an international prize for children’s literature established by the Swedish government.
