Tethered by Tracy Anne Ong

i didn’t want to breeze through this, but maybe that’s just how it goes when you’re really rooting for someone to finally come up for air after swimming in murky waters.
tracy of @blithebooksindependent wrote about her brainstem stroke that’s sobering in all its rawness, it almost felt like cold water being splashed on my face. what else can make you realize that everything you are, everything that you’ve worked so hard for, can all be gone in an instant—than a debilitating illness?
and yet, in the midst of all the gloom and uncertainty is her ability to laugh (you will laugh with her, too), to tap into her “fighting spirit” when she has nothing left to give, and the gift of family. i wish all it takes are pleasant times to know what it means to be a family, but it really is during times of crisis that makes you one.
i’d like to to put some quotes here that resonated deeply with me, but there are tons. if i could highlight everything, i would. 😅 so best to get yourself (and your friends and family!) a copy. it’s a gift that will keep on giving. i know i’ll be dipping into this book time and again.
